My bachelor’s degree in communication is one that will take me very far in this career. The ability to communicate in the community is pivotal and I have had plenty of practice in large school settings, and in running basketball camps.
Some of the communication skills I have that relate to firefighting are crisis communication, advanced writing skills for the reports that have to be written up, and the ability to work with a closely knit group of people.
I pride myself on being a high level communicator, and I know that communication is required to be a successful firefighter.
