Patience

After making it to play Division 1 basketball, I had to wait my turn to get on the floor. I never got an extended opportunity on the court, but I didn’t let it discourage me from being the basketball player I want to be. My senior year, after never playing more than 11 minutes per game in my career, I was a pivotal player for the team, and a captain of the squad. The way I was always able to stay patient was I did my best to understand that life is about the big picture. I convinced myself every day that I didn’t need the instant gratification that others may need, I knew the work I was putting in would get me there. My patience got me to where I wanted to be.
